any tips on how to capture the best features of a building?

I love my hometown and there are plenty of historic buildings I want to photograph. I'm from a pretty big city so naturally everything is crammed together. Briefly looked at what kind of lens works best for Architectural Photography. I use a 50mm lens most often. I'm incredibly awkward with it right now. Most of my photos are taken early in the morning so people don't see me standing on city park benches or in the middle of the street. My apologies for the super generic question. Nonetheless, any tips on how to capture the best features of a building?Aside from just kind of "feeling" the setting and focusing on my favorite parts, I don't think I'm really applying any techniques... via /r/Beginning_Photography http://ift.tt/2unNSjO
