Anyone here still use a dedicated light meter, along with a digital camera, outside of a studio?

I was playing around with a friend's dad's spot meter, which he still uses for shooting outdoors. He said it helps him slow down, as he calculates exposure things in his head, sometimes using the zone system, and determines if the DR of the camera will allow the exposure without clipping/crushing. He also said its more cathartic when being forced to slow down like that.I can see how that would be true. Forced to think more about the lighting of the scene, and the capabilities of the camera.Wondering if others still use meters like this? via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2v4PuMA
