Best way to shoot \ engineer \ accommodate a roughly 40x30 print?

I have a mixed media piece I'm trying to shoot to print at anywhere from 36-48" x 24x30"At 24mp, I would have to shoot two photos and stitch them together at 50mp I have to rent a camera.I've warmed to and actually now like the idea of shooting a medium format negative, and scanning it.But if I do end up shooting two 24mp photos, how am I going to do this and not end up with two images that are not going to be congruent to each other? I feel like this method is a total pipe dream and not doable at all.The piece is self contained, so I don't need to factor in anything but the art, and it's designed for a print. So theoretically I could just slide the camera down and shoot another photo.I suppose they probably make software for this. But either way, I AM warming to the idea of shooting on actual film and scanning. I think it will add something to this, but either way I'm looking for input. This goes outside of the box here a little bit. Normally the MP rating would not be that important, but the piece has some thin threads on it that are important to the image. And those single threads I think are going to be problematic unless I can either map to 1:1 by way of a scanned negative, or an actual 50mp shot.I have to construct a rig to shoot this so I need to plan in advance. Thanks for any help! via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2vrispy
