I am a new photographer and I can't find any information on how to use the black umbrella.

When I google "Photography black umbrella" I get a lot of results for the Black Umbrella Photography Company or I get a lot of results on using umbrellas but never a direct answer to the question on what the black umbrella is for or how to use it.
