I'm not satisfied with the photos I took / was paid / not sure what to do?

I have been taking photos for nearly 1 year now, portrait photography of friends and family. I have a full time job and do this for fun. Since I am in the beginning stages of starting to charge, a big mistake happened and I feel guilty.I recently shot my first engagement shot. I was solicited from a friend from college. I told her that engagement shots are a big deal and is she sure I take them. She said yes.Day of shoot - everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I made the mistake of not booking the time of our shoot super early. We did 8am and by then, it was brighter than I don't know what.3/4 of the shoot - I freaked out (internally) because I was truly not feeling the shoot with the sun but I continued like a professional, including going to shaded areas however the sun shines so bright in the background that it just ruins the shots. As a professional, I want to be transparent. I have asked multiple people and they are split. Some say I deliver the photos and wait for the couples response, as they may not notice.Others say I tell them how I feel.Ultimately, I am not proud of my work. I have even thought about going to their house and delivering the donation about they paid me and then emailing them to check their mailbox. They paid me $100 for a 1 hour shoot. Please let me know of your thoughts on how to handle this, I beg you. I did have a signed contract as well. via /r/photography http://ift.tt/2uweShh
